Our children just returned from a week on the farm and are ready to go back, possibly to live. They loved the animals, the counselors, the food, the views, the many choices of chores and activities, the fun (dance party, tug-of-war, swinging on the willow tree), the friends they made, the bunkhouses, and the flushing toilets. As parents, we appreciated the work-play balance, the opportunity for our children to be independent and care for themselves and others in a safe, supportive environment, and the daily pictures, which helped us feel a part of the experience and connected to our children while they were away. We’re happy to have found a local farm camp that reinforces our family’s values: be kind, work hard, do good. – Michael V., father of two and head of school family at Gateway Montessori
Our goal, at the end of a week of camp, is for your child to move a step closer to becoming themselves, confident, caring, curious, compassionate young people.
In a world of amazing opportunities, children have limitless chances to learn information and facts about things, but so few spaces to understand who they are. We’ve prepared the farm experience for discovery, new friends and the important work of creating self.
